GALE IN THE CHANNEL.
DISTRESS SIGNALS,
ALL-NIGHT SEARCH FAILS,
(Received 9 a.m.) LONDON, October 30
A Gorman mail and freight aeroplane carrying a pilot and mechanic loft Croydon at 8.55 p.m, yesterday in a gale. At 9.37 p.m. her crew sent out an S.O.S. call indicating a position in the Channel.
A search was conducted all night, by the Dover lifeboat and ships, but no trace was found of the machine or
its occupants,

A Inter message states that the pilot and moehariie of the German mail aeroplane were reseller! from tho sea by a steamer. Xo trace was found of tho aircraft.
