Speaking at the Millions Club, the German aviator, Hans Bertram, said an aeroplane to travel through space at the rate of 700 to 1000 miles an hour and to carry mails from Australia to Europe in 0 or 10 hours is regarded as an almost accomplished fact. The plane has been constructed by Professor Junkers, called the stratoplant, and is now ready for trial. The machine would mount to 50,000 feet in the stratosphere and travel at a speed up to 1000 m.p.li.
