FRENCH CONSIDERATION”. REMODELLING- FORCES. (Received .10 a.m.) I’ARIS, October 2d. It is learned that the Committee of National Defence is still wrestling with the French disarmament plan. It is reported that the Minister of Marine, Mr Leon Meyer, is prepared to agree to the naval proposals only on condition that Britain reduces her naval armaments proportionately. A later message states that M. Boncour, Minister of War, and General Weygand have achieved a compromise. It is understood that the scheme involves the remodelling of the permanent forces and reserves under which all nations will he able to tabulate identical categories.
