ON ELLERSLIE TRACKS. (Special to “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day. As the result of heavy overnight rain the going was on the heavy side at Ellerslie this morning. No. 2 grass track was available, and there was a fair amount of fast work. Several horses were schooled over hurdles.

Krangnpni and Hunting March were sent half a mi Ip, running the distance in 53sec.’ They- have both done well since they raced at Avondale,

Ruling King and .Supreme. Ruler, separately, did strong work, but neither was required to go fast. On Approval was going better than Bright Flnwc.r at the end of six furlongs. His first three took 41 3-ssec, and the full distance 1.25. Mahkill was allotted a round, running the distance in 2.4 3-5, She was not doing her best at any part of the gallop.

Tmamint and Echo Song jumped off at the five furlong post, covering the fiist two furlongs in 25sec. Tmamint’s saddle slipped back entering the straight, and she pulled up. Echo Song completed the journey in 1.6 1-5.

Zanc Grey was under a pull at the end of six furlongs in which lie had Ornamental as a companion, the time being 1.22 3-5. Zane Grey is making good progress.

My Money was given an easy four furlongs, which he completed in 57 1-5.

Roman Mascot and Marchette covered four furlongs in 57 4-ssoc, doing it easily.

Lord Aintree put up the best effort ever six furlongs, running the distance ir. LI!) 3-5. He was ridden by- G. .Jenkins, who will have the mount on him at. the Waikato Hunt Meeting. Llanore was holding Tahae. Men safely- at the conclusion of half a mile in 53 l-ssec. Sister Em hit out very- freely- over five furlongs, running the first two in 26 1-ssec, and completing the gallop in 1.8 4-5. The stable mates. Gay- Eroney and Barn Dance, jumped, off together at the six furlong post, running the first three in 40 4-ssep, and completing their task in 1.25 35. They- could have done considerably- better. . , The best sprint of the morning was credited to Kiltowy-n, who, stood flatfooted at the half-mile post, and after running his first furlong in .13 l-ssec, registered 51 2-ssee for the four. This was a first-class effort considering the state of the ground. The Kilhroney-Miss Hazel .gelding ran home from the three furlong peg in 40 3-5.

Neil, after being schooled, was timed to rim the last half-mile of his work in 55 l-ssee. Demy-Ins took 26soe for his first two furlongs and completed five furlongs in 1.7 4-5. This hack looks improved as the result of his raee at Avondale.

The Jumpers. Wee prince, Xeil and Patutahi were companions over four schooling hurdles. Patutahi slipped badly after lauding over the first fence, otherwise the display was good. C’laremore was sent over the same fences. He did not have a. great deal of pace on, but made a satisfactory showing. The New Zealander, Hard Words, has changed hands, and in future will be trained at Caulfield by .M. Crossey. M. McCarten is to ride Glenanton and Cnraco at Aloouee Valley tomorrow. Taisho has resumed work at Caulfield in eharge of Maurice McGrath. Skidmore will ride Dawn Patrol in the Derby. Indium's next raee will be the 'Melbourne Stakes, and its form in that raee will decide if if is fo run in the Melbourne Cup. I. Tucker is to ride The Buck in tomorrow's steeplechase.

Sam ad on has been scratched for the 'Melbourne Cup.

TRACK GALLOPS. TUTS MORNING’S WORK. (Received noon.) MELBOURNE, This Day. The weather was fine after, overnight rain at Fleniington. On the grass, Lough Neigh and Kuvcra ran ten furlongs in 2.J5, the first four taking 54s and the last mile 1.48. Mulcra went better than Earl Leicester over six furlongs in ,1.18. Chatham ran two furlongs in 2545. Havering ran three in 38s. Middle Watch, with a light weight, did eleven' furlongs in 2.3(54,- the last six furlongs taking 1.274. Income did a mile in 1.47. Horowhenua ran four furlongs in 555. Baba, went better than White Nose over ten furlongs iri 2.19. Baba completed eleven furlongs in 2.32

Manawhenua, Compris and Admiral Drake did the best ten furlongs, taking 2.144. At Caultield, on the grass, Indnna went better than Foul wind on the tan. Strcpcrus and Eastern Chief ran ten furlongs in 2.14. They finished together, the last three furlongs taking 3Ss. Rogilla ran three furlongs in 445. He looks well. Dermid sprinted three furlongs in oils. Parkwood and .Jimmie Hoy did the best four furlongs, ' taking IDs. Touchwood i'eat Lipton and Galina over five furlongs in 1.54.
