HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
LAST EVENING’S ADDRESSES. The . usual monthly social meeting of the Wiangarei Horticultural Society was held in the Coronation Tea Rooms last evening. In the absence of the president, Mr W. IT. Timewell, Mr G. V. Stringer presided over a large attendance. Two lectures of interest, to horticulturists were delivered during the evening. Mr W. A. Given gave a very instructive address on the fertility of the soil and the effect of manures, while Mr Nordstrand spoke on the germination of ferns.
