BOND OF UNION
BRITISH METHODIST CHURCHES. ATTESTATION NEXT MONTH. (Received 9 n.m.) LONDON, August H!. The 'Wesleyan, Primitive and United Methodists will become a corporate body in the Albert Hall on September 20, when in the presence of the Duke and Duchess of York, and probably the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Bishop of London, the three branches of the church \fill be formally united. The presidents of the throe existing bodies will mount the platform with the Rev. John Scott Lidgett, the new-ly-elected president of the entire Methodist Church, and all four will sign the bond of union. This ceremony will mark the end of * 19 years’ work. The union applies only to Britain, but will have an important influence on Methodism in other countries.
