MAGISTRATE MURDERED POINT-BLANK SHOOTING. YEAR’S SINISTER SERIES. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received 9 a.m.) CALCUTTA, April 30. , The District Magistrate at Alidnaporo, Western Bengal, Mr Robert Douglas, was'fired'at with a revolver and seriously wounded by a youth. He died in hospital later. The assailant fired three times at point-blank range when 'Mr Douglas was leaving a board meeting. The youth was arrested by three police. Mr Douglas has specialised in finance and was highly esteemed in the Civil Service. He succeeded Mr James Peddie, who was murdered in a similar manner last year. Pour British officers have now been assassinated by terrorists in Bengal in the last 12 months.
