PLIGHT OF NEW SOUTH WALES INTERNAL DEFAULT. INTEREST DUE TODAY. MINISTRY CHANGES TACTICS. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, May 1. It is announced in political circles that the Premier of New South Wales, Mr J, T. Lang, intends to default to the extent of £200,000 of internal interest falling due tomorrow. The “Sydney Morning Herald” says that, in view of the latest developments in the financial dispute between the Commonw'ealth and the State, it seems that the Lang Ministry has changed its plans. It is probable that the bill to amend the Audit Act and validate the breaches committed Will not be brought down during the Parliamentary sittings next week, and that the drastic financial measures contemplated will also be delayed.
McGHRR ULTIMATUM. LOYALISTS’ REPUDIATION. (Received 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day.' Loyalist unions are in revolt against the ultimatum of the Minister of Transport, Mr J. MeGirr, that they must ,ioin a bona fide union before the iend of May. The president of the Railway Service Association has refused to carry out the Minister’s order and has advised all members of the association to take similar action.
