MAUNGAKARAMEA

(Prom Our Own Correspondent.) Christian Endeavour Society. After the monthly ‘meeting held on Tuesday night last, a social hour was spent to welcome Missioner Sands. Solos were rendered, by Miss Bint and Mr Sands, who sang in Maori. Each member present "extended a welcome to Mr Sands and hoped he would have a happy time during his-stay in the district. Mr Sands suitably replied, thanking the members for their kind words. Supper provided by the ladies brought-proceedings to a close. W.D.F.U. '

A very pleasant evening'was- spent at the residence of Mr and Mrs T. E. Porter on Friday night, wheh members of the local branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, together with their menfolk, met in friendly converse. A programme of games and competitions was thoroughly enjoyed, and after a dainty supper the host and hostess were accorded musical honours.
