STATE FOREST BLAZE
PLANTATION NEAR HANMER. (Per Press Association.—Copyright.) CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. Damage running into hundreds of pounds was done to a State plantation near Hanrner by a il'rc which broke out yesterday and raged for four hours. An area of about luO acres was affected. Fanned by a strong north-west wind the flames spread rapidly, and .150 men had to work hard to check the outbreak.
