TRANSPORT EMBARGO
BUS SERVICES DISCONTINUED. 2500 EMPLOYEES IDLE. (Received 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, November I. About 440 buses which have been competing with trams and trains in the metropolitan area ceased running at midnight in consequence of the recently gazetted regulations under which a heavy passenger toll is imposed on omnibuses which compete with the Government transportation system. Those buses which act as feeders escape the levy. At least 2500 employees will be rendered idle. Public indignation is at fever heat.
