NAVAL RATINGS
PAY C IT. TEX PER CP XT, (Special lo “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day. The officer-in-charge of the. Dovonport Naval Ease, Commander E. L. Herthon, received advice yesterday that the rates of pay of all officers and ratings of flic New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy on New Zealand pay will be subjected to a 10 per cent cut. The cat will come inti force on January 1, .1032. Advice was received from the British Admiralty on September 17 ordering a reduction in the pay of all Imperial ratings serving on warships in Now Zealand waters. This affected approximately 200 officers and men of H.M.S. Laburnum and H.M.S. Veronica. The ships' companies of the cruisers Diomede and Dunedin, and the depot ship Philomel are on New Zealand rates of pay, and are paid by the New Zealand Government. Only the officers and men of these three vessels are affected by the cut announced vesterdar.
