(From Our Own Correspondent.) Kaeo School Concert. On the evening of Friday, October 2, a concert was given in Pye 7 s Hall by the children of the Kaeo Primary .School. The sum of £lO realised by this function goes to pay for the piano which has just boon procured to facilitate instruction in singing in the school. The programme for the evening was as follows;—Recitation, Lower ■ Division; part songs, “Fairy Glade 77 and “Sweet and Low, 7 ’ Upper Division; recitation, “Red Piper, 77 Warnock Sabin; play, “Merry and Bright, 77 Upper Division; ribbon dance, Lower Division; duets, “Tui Bird 77 and “Poi Waka,” Phyllis Wood and Trevor Bramley; play, “The Three Bears, 77 Lower Division; song, “1 Wish I Had a Playmate, 77 Girls; recitation, “The Pirate, 77 Lonice Wood; play, “The Laud of Nursery Rhyme, 77 Lower Division; quartettes, “E Pari Ra 7 ’ and “Po Kare feare, 77 Mina Rogers, May Rogers, Sybil King and Linda Herbert; country dances, “Sweet Kate 77 and 1 ‘Nuts and May, 77 Upper Division; song, “The Sandman Grey, 77 Lower Division. Kaeo Tennis Club. The Kaeo courts were the scene of considerable festivity on the afternoon of Saturday, October 3, the occasion of the first day 7 a play this
season. The weather, as is net its crnstoni, was lino, and nothing occurred to mar a very enjoyable afternoon. Besides many local players, there were guests from the Matangiran and Totara clubs, the number of players and onlookers totalling over 00, The refreshments provided by the lady members helped in no small way to make the afternoon the success it was. Mrs Fryer drove the first ball over the net. Mr Fryer, in declaring the courts' open, said that a very successful season is anticipated this year. Tournaments are to be arranged, and it is hoped that there will be a. number of matches with other clubs.
