In 1928 won British Hard Court Doubles Championship (with Mrs Watson); represented England v. France in Paris, and England v. America (Wightman Cup) at Wimbledon; in 1929 represented England in Wightman Cup team visiting America; won U.S.A. Mixed Doubles Championship (with Lott); w r on Pacific South West Championship at Los Angeles; represented England v. South Africa at Beckenham, and England v. Prance at Eastbourne; visited Riviera and won singles, and mixed doubles at Beaulieu, doubles at Carlton, Cannes, Duke of Connaught Vase, and Beaumont Trophy at Monte Carlo, singles at Surbiton. Ranks number 4 in World’s “First Test’’; in 1950 won singles and doubles championship of America at Forest Hills, also Middlesex Championship at Chiswick Park, singles, doubles and mixed doubles, at Ealing (spring meeting), and London Covered Court Mixed Doubles Championship with Mr. P. D, B. Spence. Author of “Learning Lawn Tennis,” 1928.
