PROMOTIONS AND TRANSFERS. (Per Pma* Ai(«ocV»tiop : —OopyrigtiV.l WELLINGTON, This "Day. The Commissioner of Police, Mr W. Gr. Wohlmanu, announces the following promotions and transfers in the police force: — Detective Rovell, of Wanganui, to bo Detective-Sergeant, and transferred to Wellington. He will be replaced at Wanganui by Detective J. J. Murray, of Wellington. Consequent on the retirement of Senior-Sergeant Butler, at Nelson, Sen-ior-Sergeant Stark, of Napier, is transferred to take his place. Sergeant Fender, of Kilbirnie, arid Sergeant Martin, of Danncvirke, are promoted to the rank of Senior-Sergeant. Sen-ior-Sergeant Pender will go to Napier. Constable Whiting, of Whangamomoon, is promoted to the rank of sergeant and Is transferred to Wellington.
