NEW ZEALANDER DUPED
FICTITIOUS PROFITS. (Received II a.m.) SYDNEY, Juno 13. A Ngav Zealander avlio recently travelled from Wellington to Sydney met an affable stranger aboard the vessel, avlio conversed about the big profits of his theatrical venture at Singapore. He induced the New Zealander to accept a partnership for £3OO. Upon reaching Sydney the New Zealander handed over £2OO in Bnglisli notes to be’ changed into gold. Tin* stranger disappeared altogether Avith the money. Detectives later arrested a man at Newtown. At the same time thev seized 136 Now Zealand £1 notes.
