FRENCH PRESIDENCY

SIMPLE INAUGURAL CEREMONY. SECOND LAVAL MINISTRY. (Received 9 a.m.) PARIS, .Tune 14. The new President, M. Doumer, took office in a simple ceremony today at the Elysce Palace, where the retiring President, M. Doumergue, awaited him. M. Doumer placed across his chest the broad red sash of the Grand Master of the Legion of Honour, •which is the only outward sign of office borne by the President. The Prime Minister, M. Laval, formally tendered the Government’s resignation and accepted a request to continue in office, thus inaugurating the second Laval Cabinet, which observers think will survive political vicissitudes until the recess, thus ensuring its stability until November.
