THE WINNING TICKET. HELD BY TYPTSTE, (Special to “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day. The winner of the first prize in the Golden Key Art Union is Mr R, Cambie, of 10, Glenbervic Terrace, Wellington. The ticket, however, is held in Auckland by a young woman, a friend of Mr Cambie. She is a typiste in a large city firm.
There was high jubilation in the telegraph branch at the Wellington Post Office when Mr Cambie was informed by telephone that he had won £2OOO. On the strength of his win, Mr Cambie decided to take a holiday, and, having a week’s leave due, announced his intention of going to Auckland. It was stated in Auckland this morning that he had gone to Wanganui. Mr Cambie, who is aged 20, is a telegraphist in the Post and Telegraph Department. .Some 18 months ago he was moved to Wellington from Auckland, where he had been stationed for nine years. He had little to say of his good fortune.
