PIG-MARKETING ASSOCIATION
DECISION TO DISCONTINUE
A meeting of the executive of the Whangarei Co-operative Pig Marketing Association was held in the office of the secretary, Mr H. T. Snell, at noon on Friday, those present being Mr A. Clarke, in the chair, Messrs E. Elliott, J. H. Hayward, A. Phillips, H. E. Hewlett, and the secretary, Mr H. T. Snell.
After discussion it was decided, as the active functions of the association, which has been in recess for the last two years, were now at an end, to wind up the organisation. |
Many causes had contributed toy wards a cessation of the association V activities. Members stressed the irriy tation and consequent lack of interest, occasioned through delay in finalisa-j tion of payments, by having to await ultimate disposal overseas. The relative smallness of local supplies hindered the' making up of parcels of a suitable size, and consequently delay in shipping was caused. The Waikato people, owing to the large supplies available, were not the victims of similar conditions. „ Those wishing still to export pork could do so through the Waikato Association.
The chairman complimented all present on the keenness displayed, which was reflected in the good attendance at all meetings held.
