TOWN HALL LEASE.

Sir. —I have road with interest two letters concerning the Town Hall lease which have appeared in the '‘Advocate.” I may be wrong, but it. seems to me that the Borough Council is to be commended for having done what it could to keep alive the lease of the Town Hall. As a ratepayer I am not much interested in the constitution of any of the picture companies, but what I am interested in is the fact that the Borough Council is getting something like £BOO a year in rent for the Town Hall. If pictures were not running there, the borough would be minus £BOO a year, and I presume that my rates would Decomc correspondingly heavier. That is a very important matter to me, and I am sure it is to every other ratepayer in those days of stress. lam glad to know that the Borough Council expects to get the whole of the rent for the Town Hall. In acting as it has done, it has only followed the policy which all wise business people arc adopting with those who owe them money. I am, etc., CITIZEN, j
