BANKS CLOSE DOORS
MORE CHICAGO INSTANCES. DEPOSITS TOTAL £3,000,000. (Received 9 a.m.) CHICAGO, June 11. Five more local banks, with a, total deposit of £3,000,000, shut their doors today. Some of Chicago’s largest financial institutions came to the aid of other banks, upon which there had been a steady run for several days. Well-known bankers have issued reassuring statements, expressing confidence in the soundness of the city banks.
