Russian Steel Orders. The Berlin correspondent of the “Times” says the “Berliner BoersenCouricr, ” which is usually well-in-formed, announces that by making price concessions the Soviet has reached an agreement with the Gorman Steel Works Association, and is placing orders for £20,000,000 worth of rolling-mill products from German firms. Domestic Service Bill. The British House of Commons has granted a private member leave to introduce the Domestic Service Bill, the object of which is to set up a commission of five members, of whom the chairman and two others would be women, to review comprehensively the conditions of employment of domestic servants, and to improve the status of their occupation. It is claimed that the measure will be in the interest of domestic servants and their mistresses, ami that the commission could draw up a charter making general such standards of work ami wages as existed among good employers.
