ESCAPE FROM LOCK-UP
TWO MAORI PRISONERS. (Special to "Northern Advocate.’’) TE PUKE, This Day. The two prisoners, Wi Pori and George Eopata, who were remanded'in custody yesterday on a charge arising put of the robbery of a safe at Paengaroa, escaped from gaol during last night. It is suggested that the lock may have been picked from the outside and left on the bed. The discovery was made by Constable Jackson at 6 a.m. and immediately he circularised a description of the two escapees and commenced a search. Wi Pori is 31 years of age. He is wearing a brown suit, black shoes and no hat. George Eopata, aged 21, was wearing tan shoes, a. khaki shirt, a dark overcoat and a felt hat. The use of a motor ear is suspected.
