SCOUTS IN CAMP
AVHANGAEEI TROOP. \ EASTER WEEK-END. \ - A party of 2.1 Whangarei Boy Scouts have just returned from an enjoyable camp held at Kara over the Lastin' holiday period. They went into camp on Good Friday under, the charge of Scoutmaster Whellan, assisted by Mr R. C. Ferguson, troop secretary, and two acting assistant scoutmasters.
After a church parade on Hood Friday the boys proceeded to the camp and 'Saturday was devoted to general scouting work and a camp-fire' in the evening. On Sunday several attended a ehureli parade at Maunu and the camp was open for visitors in the afternoon. A now’scout was also enrolled in the afternoon. On Monday morning all the camp equipment was packed early, leaving the day free for sports. There was keen rivalry among- the various patrols. In the trek cart competition the silver cup as a trophy was won by tlie ! Tui Patrol, with the Kiwis a close second. Before leaving, the Scouts heartily cheered Mr Woods, owner of r the property upon which the camp was held. The boys behaved splendidly throughout the whole period.
