Butter Is quoted at up to 118/ a cwt, with the market showing an upward tendency, compared with 115/ a week ago. Indications are that New Zealand butter is now being sold well up to arrival and that present consumption in England is equal to, if not greater j than, the supply. The Danish butter market is reported to be “excited," and around the equivalent of 152/ in Loudon. Agents for London importers have been very active in various parts of the province during the past week or so, offering 12,1 d f.o.b. for February shipment. Ouly a few thousand ■boxes have been sold, however, as most factory directorates are not prepared to change their policy in the middle of the season, and prefer to continue consigning. STORE SHEEP. HAMILTON SALE. (Special to “Northern Advocate.") HAMILTON, This Day. The Waikato Fanners’ Co-operative, Auctioneering Company reports as io,lows. — We hold our Hamilton store sheep sale yesterday, when a particularly heavy yarding of all classes of store lambs and breeding ewes came forward. The whole entry changed hands under keen competition at satisfactory prices. Tire yarding comprised a large number of breeding ewes ex Gisborne and East Coast districts, also a heavy entry of store lambs', which sold at satisfactory prices, mostly to dairy farmers.
