The dredger will have moorings laid fore and aft and athwart the channel, and vessels navigating in the vicinity must exercise care to avoid fouling the moorings. The clear side of the dredger, on which vessels shall pass,' will be indicated by red lights at night and a red ball on the yard-arm by day. Dredging alignment piles are driven on both sides of the channel below the dredge, leaving-a clear fairway of 170 feet in width between the piles.. These piles are marked by white lights at night time.
