An extraordinary meeting of shareholders of Associated Newspapers, Ltd.. Sydney, today approved reorganisation by which the “Daily Guardian’’ and “Daily Pictorial,’’ both morning dailies, are to disappear and a new paper, to bo known as the “Daily Telegraph,’’ being established, as a broadsheet '.similar to the former “Daily Telegraph” which will combine (he main futures of the two newspapers which are being suspended.
The “Sunday Pictorial” is also to
disappear and will be merged into pile “Sunday Guardian,” the latter to be under the control of the “Daily Telegraph” staff. No decision has been readied concerning the future of the, ‘Evening News,” which will remain in abeyance.
