A quiet-living labourer named Palmer, residing at Gielsdorp, suddenly shot his wife, two children, his mother-in-law and sister-in-law, and wounded his brother-in-law. Palmer later committed suicide.
It is believed that the tragedy Avas due to quarrels Avith the Avife’s parents, Avith Avhom the Palmers lived.
