Sparkling and gruelling tennis was witnessed on Saturday at Christ church, when the Dominion chaaupion ships were advanced a further stage in weather that proved trying to the players. Additional results of the aU tornoon’s play are as follows: —

Features of Saturday’s play in Mutennis championships were the defeat of Miss Nicholls, the former champion, by Mrs Thomson, and the vietorv of Misses Gould and MacDonald over the ■holders of tin- doubles title, Misses Wake and Andrew. Miss Nicholls became exhausted in the sweltering heat. Mrs Dykes (neo Speirs), who completely outclassed Miss Marion. MacFarlane, is now a hot favourite for the women’s title.
