(Per Press Association. —Copyright.)
WANGANUI, This Day
A representative and well-attended conference of delegates from dairy factories over a wide area who are doing business with the Wanganui port met yesterday and passed the following resolution: “That this meeting protests against the .action of the Dairy Control Board in completing an agreement with overseas shipping companies which restricts the exportation of dairy produce through the port of Wanganui and expresses the opinion that the condition should not have been agreed to by the board in the interests of the dairy industry, because it establishes n' precedent for interference throughout New Zealand with the right of dairy' factories to ship their produce through any grading port This meeting asks, the Minister of Agriculture to request the board to take immediate steps to re-establish the conditions which obtained at Wanganui prior to the coming into force of -the new agreement. Further, that Parliamenit be asked to take a plebiscite of the industry with a view to the abolition of the board.”
