DOUBLE STAR TALKIES

“Dames Ahoy,” Glen Tryon’s latest all talking comedy, heads the double bill at the Lyceum tonight and tomorrow’s matinee and night performances. Monte Blue is the star player in the second feature', “No Defence;” a dramatic railroad story.

TREAT IN STORE

-Something worth while by way of a ‘bright and pleasant entertainment Is not far distant. The Whanga.rei public may confidently look forward to a. treat on the nights of October 21 and 22, when the Misses -Somerville will present itheir pupils at the Whanga.rei Town Ha.ll -in a Grand Dance Recital entitled “The Peep Show.” The dancing throughout will be a feature, there being many sparkling numbers, and the frocks will present a picture of superb loveliness. The programme is a comprehensive one, every item being full of life and vigour and made gloriously effeotive. The incorporation of such numbers as the following will give an idea, of what is in store when this bright production is staged:— “Up in the Air,” a brilliant number in which all the pupils take part. A charming scene (that will greatly appeal to all is the “Dutch Lullaby,” in which. ;"0 pupils participate. Several duo dances by the tiny tots should be much -appreciated.
