In the Ain gist rate’s Court Thomas Henry Barry pleaded guilty to obtaining from EniC'St Anthony a motor car valued, -at £4O by a false pretence. The purchase was made at Grcymoutli, and, when arrested at Wellington, Barry said -ho intended to sell the car that day. He bought it for £6O. He had been round about Grcymoutli two months, drinking, and had then stowed away to AA r elUngton. Speaking from the dock Barry said he realised ho was technically guilty, but he had no intention of defrauding the owner of the ear. Had he not had an accident with it he would have sold it, iand opened an aec6unt at the bank, whore his post-dated cheque would have been met. Air E. Pago, S.AI., said he would take time to consider the ease, and remanded Bai’rv.
