PROTRACTED MEETING. I GENERAL AGENDA ITEMS. The agenda which confronted borough councillors on Monday night, after a month's absence from the table, was the heaviest since the last election. Several members introduced “pet” subjects, with a view to having' provision made on the new estimates. The meeting commenced punctually at 7.10 and continued until 10.40, the Mayor presiding over a full attendance. MOENTNGSTDE SEWERAGE. Regarding a sower to the Morningside Estate, 'Northland Home Providers, Ltd., wrote as follows: —“In reference to the above matter, we have to advise that'four houses on the lower road of the above estate are now being erected, and it is our desire to connect the drainage at the earliest possible moment. We may add that we will be applying for permits for a further six houses in the course of a few days, and we wish to be in a position to make all the sewerage connections 'without any undue delay. Will you, therefore, please advise us when the council will proceed with the necessary work. We may add that contracts' for the erection of Id houses 011 this estate have been entered into, and it is only a matter of a few weeks before Mu' whole 111 will be disposed of.” 1 The company will be advised that the council is prepared to act when ten houses are in course of construction.
