Mr G. A, Troup, Mayor of Wellington, sailed yesterday by the Aorangi for Vancouver.

Dr. S. H. Ward, who has been spend ing a yachting and fishing holiday, in eluding a visit to Kawau, has returned to Whangarei.

| Mr W. F. L. Ward, inspector ,of the j Bank of Australasia, has left on a holij day visit to Melbourne. Mr H. I. I Thodey, manager at Gisborne, is relieving Mr Ward. M:r A. P. Thomas, of Whangaroi, who has been appointed manager of the Lifebuoy Rubber Company vice Mr P, Jones, has taken up his residence in Dargavillo. Mr P, Hough is a North of England visitor to New Zealand for the third time in 18 months. Ho arrived at Auckland on the Makura yesterday and will travel through the Dominion. At a meeting of the Dunedin Presbytery yesterday afternoon, it was decided to sustain the call from the Knox Church to the Rev. D. C. Herron, M.C., M.A., of St. David’s Church, Auckland.

Though Sir Robert Stout is obliged to keep to his residence at Wellington under medical treatment, he is not prostrated, but mentally alert and able between whiles to discuss current events with old friends who occasionally arc allowed to see him. This statement, on the authority of a recent caller, will be consoling to 6ir Robert’s countless friends.
