" ' >. 7 Rumours which have, been in free circulation since .Tuesday* when a special Cabinet meeting .-• was held, that 'Sir Joseph Ward was resigning, were denied today when inquiries were made in official quarters. No such change is contemplated was the reply given by an official in close personal touch with Sir Joseph Ward. Since his return from Rotorua last Friday the Prime Minister has been confined to his private suite at .Parliament House, but he is attending daily .to public business, and Cabinet meetings yesterday and on Tuesday were held in his private room. Sir Joseph Ward, at the request of his colleagues, is returning to Rotorua, probably during the week-end.
