HEALTHIER TONE
GETTING BACK TO NORMAL,
STOCK EXCHANGE PICKS UP,
(Received 12.40 p.ci.)
NEW YORK, November 18,
The Stock Exchange gave further indications of a return to normal conditions. There was a decline within a comparatively narrow range, but many issues picked up towards the close and the majority finished above their low levels for the day. Wall Street, pleased with the market's performance, looks for a. continuation of quiet sessions with narrow price movements until the list becomes adjusted to the new conditions. The main interest now, centres upon President Hoover's forthcoming industrial conferences.
The first Stock Exchange casualty of the recent crash was recorded when the Governors suspended a Providence,, firm for failure to meet obligations.,,
