(Per Press Association.-—-Copyright.)

AUCKLAND, This Day.

At- the Police Court today Allan Gordon Wattam, formerly storekeeper in charge of the Harbour Board shed, appeared for sentence on six charges of theft of liquor, silk and other goods. He was sentenced to -six months’ imprisonment on one charge. Mr F. K, Hunt, S.M., said it was a sad ease, accused having been married only two years. Probation was out of the question, for Wattam had not only betrayed his trust to the board, but to the country, which made him a special constable.
