SAMMY’S FORTUNE
The Merry Musical Revuesicality which is to be staged at the Town Hall for three nights in aid of the Whangarci Rowing and Hockey Queen Carnival, is now in full rehearsal, and judging from results so far, a good night's entertainment of fun and musical numbers can be looked for. The Chorus, which numbers twenty ladies and ten gentlemen, has worked very hard, and at a. rehearsal held last evening only one number had to be done a second time, which augurs well for the- success..-of -the production. The various speaking parts are just about word perfect and as there will not be any prompter on the nights of the show, this gentleman's voice will be missing from , the parts. Mr Alee Cameron, a newcomer to Whangarei audiences, is cast for the part of Jock Hislop, the College Hero, and his tuneful voice will be heard to advantage, ‘both in solos and duets. The part of the Schoolmaster is in the capable hands of Mr W, Cole, and if rehearsals are any indication, this part will be one of the successes of the show. Mr B. Walker, as Mr Copall, the ‘Solicitor, is another newcomer to local audiences, and can be looked for to give a very fine impersonation of this character. His manner is very easy and natural and he is evidently not a novice at. the game. A full cast of characters will bo published later. 35S
