The following are the results of the remaining events run at the Canterbury Jockey Club’s meeting yesterday:— New Zealand Oaks, of 600 so vs; one mile and a half—(l) Eaglet 8.10, 1 ; (,3) Duellona 8.10,,/2; (4) Disorder 8.10, 3. Greenaway was scratched. Won by a length. Time—2.3s J. Ashley Handicap, of 300 sovs; one mile.—(B) The Bailiff 7.0, 1; (1) Make Up 7.2, 2; (5) Star Shooter 8.2, 3. Austerity, Taurua and Sapient were scratched. Won by half a head. Time —1.40.
Avon Handicap, of 350 so vs; seven furlongs.—(B) Caterpillar 7.10, 1; (7) Keddar 8.12, 2; (4) Night Lad 8.5, 3. All started. Distances between placed horses arid time of race not telegraphed.

At a meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Association, a motion was carried; “That it be a recommendation to handieappers, that, wherever possible, the practice of placing horses on the six yards’ mark be discontinued, owing to the possibility of serious accidents.”
