LOSS OF 52 LIVES,

A -message from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, states that hope that the Grand Trunk car-ferry, Milwaukee, with 52 persons aboard, had survived a 48-hour storm on Lake Michigan, faded today with' the report of wreckage, including •'inply lifeboats, mattresses and parts of a, white cabin, believed to be from the car of the ferry, being picked up four miles north Of Racine.
The ferry left Milwaukee on Tues u day en route for Grand Haven, Michigan,
The fate of many other persons on reported missing ships is uncertain, following a terrific storm on the Great Lakes. Property damage by the storm in including breakwaters, boulevards and, parks, is estimated at 2,000,()00 dollars, with another 1,000,000 dollars’ damage to private property in the city and elsewhere.
TWO BODIES FOUND. (Australian Press Association.) * (Received 2.14 - p.m.) VANCOUVER, October 24. A message from Milwaukee states that two bodies in lifebelts marked “Milwaukee” have been found.
