SWARM OF SNAKES
WRITHING ON FENCES,
FLOOD CONSEQUENCE
(Australian Press Association.) (Received 3.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 19. Recent rains and the backing of water by the Hume Weir near Albury are causing submergence of the Mitta River flats. Stock; is being removed and road traffic is blocked. Hundreds of tiger snakes were seen climbing the tops of fences and tree limbs above water.
