Captain W. A. Wildman, sour., of Nelson, has retired from the Anchor Shipping Company after 53 years of service. He has commanded all the company’s vessels at one time or another. iSinee 1916. Captain Wildman has been continuously on the NelsnnWellington run. Mr Will Appleton, managing director of Charles Haines, Ltd,, on his way Home through. Canada writes to say lie has been having a good trip, but strenuous. He visited the Ford works at Windsor and Detroit. At the latter /dace 10-1,000 men were employed and production had reached 9300 cars a. day.
