HURRYING TO SON’S DEATH-BED 'ACCIDENT AT ALMOST IDENTICAL SPOT. (Special to “Northern Advocate.’’) . AUCKLAND 1 , This Day. A coincidence, of a distressing nature occurred on Saturday when Mrs Mary Brownlee, who had hurried, from the country on receiving, the news that her son. Ronald Hugh Brownlee died from injuries received in a motor cycle accident that morning, was knocked down by a Black and White taxi,-driv en by Clarence Williams, only a few yards from the spot where her son was injured. She herself was seriously injured. and had to "be admitted to hospital . Brownlee, who was single, aged 23, was residing at 39 Paiee Avenue, Dominion. Road. He was an electrician in the employ of the Public Works Department and loft home shortly before eight o ’clock on Saturday morning to

ride to work. He was riding along

Dominion Road when he collided with . a motor lorry driven by L. Hunter, of Mt. Roskill, which was turning from Dominion Road into Bellwood Avenue. The motor cycle was pinned beneath the lorry, and when Brownlee was released it was apparent his injuries were very serious. An ambulance was called and'took the in jured man to hospital, where he died on Saturday afternoon.
