AUCKLAND, August 5

When officials and members of the French Club ‘Avere inspecting the cruiser Tourville yesterday, a kmd explosion shook the vessel.

Instead of a panic and an attempt to quit the cruiser, the people dashed to the upper deck, where hung a. heavy cloud of smoke. Petrol, dripping from a small engine upon the plates of another engine, under a platform where two airplanes are housed abaft the second funnel, had exploded through a large ventilator. The only persons perturbed AA r ere the group inspecting the airplanes Avhen the explosion occurred.
