With a view to relieving Ellorslie ns a training centre and also to provide additional up-to-date tracks, a number of racehorse owners formed themselves into a company, known as District Training Tracks Ltd., for the purpose of acquiring property at Takanini and carrying the project into effect. The result today is the establishment of one of the best training centres in the Dominion, and the scheme has proved so successful that the Auckland Racing Club has under consideration a proposal to acquire the property in 1935.

Recently, the committee of the Auckland Racing Club appointed a sub-committee to report upon the efficiency of the. tracks and the general prospects of Takanini as a training centre.

The sub-committee, has presented its report, which is entirely favourable to the tracks' and recommends that the Auckland Racing Club should acquire the option to purchase. The report has been adopted and the option for purchase of the property is now under consideration.
