DARING HOLD-UP

BANDIT’S FORTUNATE ERROR

(Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) (Received 2i30 p.m.) VANCOUVER, July 30.

Mistaking a paymaster’s ear for a tank car carrying the monthly pay roll, five unmasked bandits staged a daring hold-up in the Canadian Pacific Railway yards today, and escaped, after waging a gun battle,- with £91,520 in cheques, which are worthless to them. The bank ear was to follow a short while, later with currency- for the employees’ salaries. The. hold-up was one of the most daring in the annals of Canadian crime.
