ELECTION OP OPPIOERS.

DUNEDIN", Tuesday. ■ The animal meeting of the Dunedin Jockey <olub was held this evening/ !Pfie ' " following officers were, elected:-~&resl- ■ dent, Mr A< C, 'Hanlon; vice-president, Mr L. G, Hazlett; committee, Messrs. J. A. Ainge, W. J. Goughian, A. H. Fisher, J, Smith, Dr. K. Ross. The chairman expressed confidence in securing lower taxation shortly, in place of the present 'burden, which was very heavy on clubs. It was decided to appoint not less than four patrol stewards' for each race meeting, to act under the stipendiary steward or judicial committee appointed for eaeh meeting.
