Mi ss Intel da- Faina, of 'Wellington, New Zealand, who returned by the Maloja, gave her -impressions -of music in Vienna. She has completed five years’ study of the piano under Professor Wnhrer, and she is now returning to Now Zealand by the Maungaaiui. She said: “I consider Vienna the best place in the world for study -of the piano. The foes arc not excessive, and the cost of living is small.'’ Miss Fama was greatly Impressed by the Philharmonic Orchestra in Vienna. The people there patronised operatic andi orchestral institutions in a way that put the people of our countries to -shame, Somc ; of the poorer people would rather go without a meal than miss a concert.
M rss Fama gave an independent recital before leaving Vienna and was well received.
