Czecho-Slovakia has a novel method of conducting boxing matches. During a tournament at Enaim, the Czech champion, Jirsa, suddenly sprang into ihe ring and challenged Fristensky,'the Austrian champion, who was present as a spectator.
Fristensky accepted on condition that it was a fight to a finish, without intervals between the rounds, whereupon the champions stripped. Jirsa, however, was weakening at the end of 19 minutes and snVMenly picked up the seconds’ stool and felled Fristensky, The Austrian’s seconds jumped into the ring and a free fight began. Soon the whole audience became involved, and when Ihe police arrived a score were wounded).
Fristensky was taken to hospital with a broken head.
