The Christchurch Municipal market, which, opened in temporary buildings on a vacant section owned by : the Electricity Department soon after last Labour council took charge, is to be closed. The council last night decided' to sell the site for £9OOO and a. committee is to discuss with fruitgrowers and others interested the question of whether support would be forthcoming to justify the council in establishing a larger market.
